Data sheet
The ZFR Medic Hip Bag is a rugged tactical first-aid bag designed for first responders, medical personnel, and emergency responders. It was developed to carry medical supplies close to the body and facilitates quick, organized access to essential first-aid equipment.
The bag is designed as a standalone first-aid kit and was developed in collaboration with medical instructors from the German Armed Forces. Its layout follows a clear principle: The necessary supplies are arranged so that the user can work their way from the outside in. This allows for quick access to gloves, rescue shears, a tourniquet, and other first-aid supplies without having to search through the bag for an extended period.
The ZFR Medic hip pouch is designed to be worn close to the body as a first-aid pouch for users who want to organize medical supplies for quick access. Compared to a classic IFAK pouch, the hip pouch offers more capacity and a clearly organized compartment layout for gloves, rescue shears, a tourniquet, and other first-aid supplies.
This makes it particularly suitable when a compact medic pouch isn’t enough, but you don’t want to carry a large medical backpack. The pouch can be customized depending on the application and used as an emergency pouch, tactical first-aid pouch, or supplemental IFAK solution. For tips on how to put together the right equipment, see the guide “What Should Go in a Tactical Waist Pouch?”
Note: The listed contents include the ZFR Medic waist pouch. Medical accessories are not included in the listed contents.
The front of the Medic waist bag is designed for quick access. Disposable gloves can be stored within easy reach in the zippered pocket of the Velcro flap. Below that is a compartment for rescue shears, a tourniquet, syringes, tubes, or similar medical accessories.
The main compartment provides space for additional first-aid supplies. The layout helps ensure that medical equipment is not transported loosely in a single large compartment but is organized logically based on access and use. This keeps the bag well-organized and supports structured work even under time pressure.
The ZFR Medic hip bag is worn with a fixed hip belt. This ensures the bag sits close to the body and remains quickly accessible without having to take off a backpack or open a larger carrying system. For tips on how to wear it, weight distribution, and packing order, see the guide “How to Properly Wear and Pack a Waist Pouch.”
MOLLE loops on both sides of the hip belt allow for expansion with additional gear or compatible pouches. This means the bag can be used as a compact emergency kit, medic pouch, or supplemental first-aid solution, depending on the mission. The guide “How to Attach MOLLE/PALS Pouches” explains how to correctly attach MOLLE and PALS pouches.
The sturdy 3-strap quick-release buckle ensures a secure fit and makes it easy to put on and take off. Wearing the bag on the hip is particularly suitable when medical supplies need to be carried directly on the body and be quickly accessible.
The Medic hip pouch is ideal for users who want to organize basic medical supplies in a clear and readily accessible manner. This includes first responders, medical personnel, emergency responders, military and government personnel, as well as security services.
The bag is also useful for outdoor activities, training, or emergency gear on the go when first-aid supplies need to be transported in a compact, durable manner close to the body. The focus here is not on general recreational use, but on the clear organization of medical supplies for quick access.
The ZFR Medic waist bag is made from Cordura® polyamide 6.6. This abrasion-resistant material is designed for regular use and ensures a long service life during training, mission preparation, outdoor use, or professional applications. For more information on cleaning and care, see the care instructions for Cordura products.
The webbing and construction are also designed for durability. The IRR/NIR treatment makes the bag particularly appealing to tactical and law enforcement users. For more information on the materials used, see the overview of fabric types used by Zentauron. The Medic hip bag is manufactured in Germany.
You can find additional compatible gear in the tactical waist pouches and hip pouches sections, as well as in the IFAK pouches section.
The ZFR Medic hip pouch combines rugged construction with a well-organized layout for medical supplies. Thanks to its compartment layout, sturdy waist belt, and MOLLE loops on both sides, it’s ideal for users who want to carry a compact tactical first-aid pouch directly on their body.
