The Vulcan IV Sp ider plate carrier is a modular, tactical plate carrier for professional users and ambitious airsoft and milsim players. It was developed for tough, regular use and combines a reliable SPIDER quick release, external plate pockets and an ergonomic cummerbund. The result is a versatile, configurable plate carrier that can be precisely adapted to the job, equipment and usage profile.

This makes the Vulcan IV Spider a suitable solution for military, police, special and security forces, government users and for realistic training, airsoft and milsim setups.
The combination of robust materials, well thought-out design and mission-oriented workmanship ensures high resilience, reliability and a long service life. Depending on the configuration, the Vulcan IV Spider can be used as a compact tactical vest with a minimal setup or as a fully equipped plate carrier with hard and soft ballistics as well as numerous extensions.

SPIDER quick-release on shoulders and cummerbund

SPIDER buckles are used on the 50 mm shoulder straps and cummerbund. They enable quick and safe quick-release of the plate carrier - even under stress and adverse conditions.

All SPIDER buckles are equipped with robust pulling aids. This allows the Vulcan IV Spider to be opened and deployed in a controlled manner, even in difficult situations. The design is geared towards tactical requirements and supports safe, reproducible operation in everyday use and training.

Ballistics & plate pockets - hard and soft ballistics safely combined

The external plate pouches are designed for hard ballistics size M and soft ballistics in sizes M (approx. 25 × 30 cm) and L in SAPI format (approx. 27 × 33 cm). Both types of ballistics are securely stored in separate compartments and can be changed quickly depending on the threat situation or order.

The plate pockets are equipped with 3D mesh on the inside:

• Internal vertical Velcro surfaces for holding optional padding
• Increased wearing comfort and improved ventilation
• Ideal for hot weather, longer periods of use and in warm or tropical climates

The ballistic protection can be extended with ballistic wings (e.g. VPAM 3 Plus) via existing Velcro zones to reduce the protection gap between the front and back plates. In addition, abdominal protection or additional front pockets can be attached to customize the plate carrier to the individual mission, equipment and personal setup. Matching ballistic inserts, soft ballistics and other accessories are available in the Zentauron range.

MOLLE surfaces on the front and back - plenty of space for equipment

The Vulcan IV Spider has large MOLLE and Velcro MOLLE zones on the front and back. They offer sufficient space for magazine pouches, IFAK, radio pouches, folding spade pouches and other equipment.

This division allows a very flexible setup:

• Velcro MOLLE for patches, ID marking, medical or team patches
• Classic MOLLE rows for magazine pouches, radios or utility pouches
• Quick conversion depending on the order, role or mission profile

The Vulcan IV Spider is compatible with many components from the plate carrier accessories and can be upgraded with front flaps, quick-change fronts and pouch sets. This allows the plate carrier to be quickly adapted for different roles - such as infantry, support, medic or CQB.

Cummerbund, fit & modularity

The cummerbund of the Vulcan IV Spider plate carrier is infinitely adjustable in length at the back using Velcro and has an elastic band for quick width adjustment - for example when changing clothing or additional protective clothing.

It is available in two sizes:

• short: approx. 95-120 cm, MOLLE 3 × 5
• standard: approx. 120-135 cm, MOLLE 3 × 7

Both versions have a slide-in compartment with Velcro fastener for side soft ballistics or flat equipment such as maps, flat pouches or similar gear components.

In combination with other plate carriers and carrying systems from Zentauron, modular, coordinated equipment setups can be created - suitable for daily duty, multi-day exercises and intensive training.

Material, processing & areas of application

The Vulcan IV Spider plate carrier is made from robust Cordura 560 DEN, and IR and NIR-compatible components are used to reduce the signature. Reinforced load points, a clean, application-oriented finish and stable, controllable load distribution even with fully loaded equipment underline the professional standard of this system.

The Vulcan IV Spider is manufactured in Germany and therefore stands for high production quality and reliable availability. The construction is based on Zentauron's many years of experience in the development of tactical equipment for the military, police and security services and is designed for long carrying times and demanding mission profiles. This makes the plate carrier suitable for official missions as well as for realistic training, airsoft and milsim setups where a robust, functional and modular tactical vest is required.
