The ARES II Spider plate carrier vest is a modular, tactical plate carrier for professional users and ambitious airsoft and milsim players. The system is designed for regular, demanding use and combines a low-profile SPIDER quick release with external plate pockets, an ergonomic fit and an infinitely adjustable cummerbund.

The plate carrier can be adapted to the job, equipment and mission profile - from a slimline setup with minimal equipment to a fully equipped vest with hard and soft ballistics and additional accessories.

SPIDER quick-release on shoulders and cummerbund

Flat-fitting SPIDER quick-release buckles are used on the 50 mm shoulder straps and cummerbund. They enable quick, controlled release of the vest - even under stress or in unfavorable conditions.

The distinctive pulling aids ensure intuitive opening during use and training, without the buckles being unnecessarily bulky or interfering when working in confined spaces.

Ballistics & overlapping front plate pocket - enlarged front protection area

The external plate pockets are designed for hard ballistics in SAPI size M. The special soft ballistics of the ARES II ensure the correct fit. Both types of ballistics are safely stored in separate compartments and can be quickly changed depending on the threat situation or mission.

A key feature is the overlapping front plate pocket:

  • Separate slots for hard and soft ballistics for a quick change between training and protective inserts

The inside of the plate pockets is lined with 3D mesh and equipped with vertical Velcro surfaces. This makes it possible to attach optional padding pads, increases comfort and supports ventilation - especially during longer periods of wear or use in warm climates.

The ballistic protection can be extended with abdominal protection or additional front pockets via existing Velcro zones. Matching ballistic inserts and accessories are available separately from the Zentauron range.

MOLLE and Velcro MOLLE zones - space for equipment

The ARES II Spider has large MOLLE and Velcro MOLLE zones on the front and back, which serve as a modular interface for magazine pouches, IFAK, radio pouches, utility pouches, hydration carriers and special equipment. Thanks to the combination of MOLLE and hook and loop, ID and IR patches, rank insignia or association and unit signatures can also be securely attached. This allows the carrier to be adapted quickly and without tools to different situations, mission scenarios and personal preferences and supports a clearly structured, ergonomic equipment configuration.

The vest is compatible with Vulcan accessories such as front flaps, pocket sets, ballistic wings and abdominal protection. This allows different setups to be preconfigured and changed in a short time if required.

Cummerbund & fit

The cummerbund of the ARES II Spider plate carrier vest is infinitely adjustable at the back using Velcro. An additional elastic band supports quick width adjustment, for example when changing clothing or additional protective clothing, and at the same time ensures a close but not restrictive fit. This keeps the wearer stable on the body even during dynamic movements, when lying down or carrying a rucksack and additional equipment, reduces disruptive slipping of the protective plates and increases wearing comfort during longer periods of use.

Cummerbund sizes:

• Short: approx. 95-120 cm, MOLLE 3 × 5
• Standard: approx. 120-135 cm, MOLLE 3 × 7

Both versions have a slide-in compartment with Velcro fastener for holding side soft ballistics or flat equipment such as maps, flat pouches or cable management.
In combination with other plate carriers and carrying systems from Zentauron, modular, coordinated equipment setups can be created - for daily duty, multi-day exercises and intensive training phases.

Material, manufacture & typical areas of use

The ARES II Spider plate carrier vest is made from robust Cordura 560 DEN. IR and NIR-compatible components support the reduction of the signature. Reinforced load points and mission-oriented processing ensure stable load distribution and high reliability even when fully equipped.

Production takes place in Germany and is based on Zentauron's many years of experience in the development of tactical equipment for the military, police and security services. The vest is designed for long periods of wear and demanding mission profiles.
