Short introduction

The THOR SET VPAM 2 soft ballistic protective vest is a thin, movement-friendly soft ballistic vest for the torso. The set is designed to be placed in the slide-in compartments of the THOR protective vest and supports a stable, close-fitting position during duty.

Please note: The ballistic insert can only be used as intended in a suitable vest cover or carrying cover. Without a cover, a secure fit is not guaranteed and use is improper.

Protective performance and classification

The inlay is designed according to VPAM 2 with close-range bullet protection and is bullet-resistant against soft core bullets from handguns in caliber 9 x 19 mm FMJ. An attached shot is taken into account.

Important: Ballistic protection reduces the risk, but does not completely prevent injuries. Even without bullet penetration, the residual energy can act as blunt trauma and cause injuries.

Twaron, a high-performance aramid, is used as the ballistic material. The multi-layer aramid construction helps to absorb the energy of a hit and distribute it over the surface. The design is 6 mm thick and has a surface weight of 3.6 kg/m². You receive a 10-year warranty; manufactured Made in Germany.

Protected body areas

The THOR SET is designed as a front and back part and protects the central hit zone in the chest and back area. This supports the cover where the highest risk from small arms threats exists in many operational situations.

For effective coverage, it is crucial that the inserts fit snugly and do not slip. After insertion, make sure that the slide-in compartments are completely closed and that they fit snugly.

Correct use / installation instructions ("Strike Face")

Always carry ballistics with the strike face facing outwards, i.e. towards the outer shell.

• If the strike face is marked, this side must always face outwards.
• If the insert is unmarked, the following applies: Strike face is the side without imprint.
• The side with technical data or manufacturer information is always the reverse side and must be worn facing the body.

Additional notes such as "Body side here" help with orientation, but are no substitute for checking the strike face and reverse side before fitting.

Care instructions

• Clean with a damp cloth if soiled.
• A welded TPU film prevents UV radiation and moisture from penetrating the aramid package.
• Do not usechemical cleaning agents, as these can attack the TPU film and impair the performance of the aramid.

Compatibility and fit

The THOR SET is designed as a ballistic insert for the THOR protective vest and is worn in its slide-in compartments. The set consists of a front part and a back part. Markings may vary depending on the version; the back part may have a combined size indication, for example M-L.

Note on third-party covers: Different cuts or compartment dimensions can affect the secure fit. For a defined fit, use in the intended carrier system is recommended.
