Data sheet
The soft ballistic Abdominal VPAM 2 is a thin, flexible ballistic insert for the abdomen. It supplements protection in the abdomen and lower abdomen area where conventional plate protection often ends - particularly useful for emergency services who want to combine mobility, quick access to equipment and additional soft tissue protection.
This insert is designed for protection class VPAM 2 with close-range fire and is bullet-resistant against soft-core bullets from handguns in caliber 9 x 19 mm FMJ. Attached shot: Yes. Ballistic protection reduces the risk of serious injuries, but does not completely prevent injuries: Even without bullet penetration, residual energy can cause trauma and injury.
Twaron is used as the carrier material - a para-aramid fiber that stands for high tear resistance and energy absorption in soft ballistic packages. The ballistic package is designed for everyday use and is classified with a thickness of 6 mm and a basis weight of 3.6 kg/m². The insert is manufactured in Germany (Made in Germany) and comes with a 10-year warranty.
The abdominal protection area covers the lower abdomen. This area can be exposed in dynamic positions, especially with frontal carrying systems. Precisely fitting soft ballistics in the abdominal area can extend the protective cover downwards without impairing mobility as much as rigid solutions.
Ballistic inserts must always be worn correctly aligned: The hit side ("strike face") faces outwards, i.e. towards the outer shell. If the strike face is marked, the alignment follows the marking.
If the insert is not marked as "Strike Face", the following applies: Strike Face is the side without imprint with technical data or manufacturer information. The side with technical data is always the reverse side and must be worn facing the body.
If soiled, clean the insert with a damp cloth. A welded TPU film prevents UV radiation and moisture from penetrating the aramid package. Please do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as these can attack the TPU film and impair the performance of the aramid.
The abdominal insert is designed for carrying systems with a matching slide-in compartment and is typically inserted into a zippered compartment on the back - for example in the PC Drop Down Pouch ballistic or the modular hip pouch. There it supplements the abdominal protection or provides ballistic protection in a fanny pack solution.
Intended use: The insert must only be worn in a suitable vest cover or carrying cover. Use without a cover is not permitted. Note on third-party sleeves: Sleeves from other manufacturers can affect the secure fit, coverage and orientation; please check the fit and correct orientation particularly carefully.
Note: This product is specifically designed for use by armed or law enforcement personnel.
