Soft ballistic abdominal protection VPAM 2 - additional protection in the abdominal area

The VPAM 2 soft ballistic abdominal protector is a thin, flexible ballistic insert for the abdominal area. It is worn in a matching abdominal protection cover and supplements the body protection where front and back protection often end. This can be particularly useful when moving, working under cover and when the angle of impact changes.

Protective performance and classification

The insert is designed for VPAM 2 with close-range fire and is bullet-resistant against soft-core bullets from handguns in caliber 9 x 19 mm FMJ. Ballistic protection reduces the risk of serious injuries, but does not completely prevent injuries. Despite interception, residual energy can lead to injuries as a blunt impact (trauma).

Mounted shot: Yes. The soft ballistic package is made of Twaron, a high-strength aramid that absorbs and distributes projectile energy in a multi-layer design. The construction is designed for a thickness of 6 mm and a surface weight of 3.6 kg/m². The insert is made in Germany and comes with a 10-year warranty. Intended use: Only wear the insert in a suitable vest cover or carrying cover. The product cannot be used properly without a suitable cover. When used in sleeves from other manufacturers, the secure fit may be affected, for example due to different insertion dimensions, a different contour or insufficient fixation.

Protected body areas

The abdomen is a sensitive area with high relevance for operational capability. The insert is designed for the abdominal lower body area and can usefully extend the scope of protection below plate carrier or vest fronts. In combination with a suitable cover, mobility is maintained while the protective surface in the lower front area is supplemented.

Correct use / installation instructions

Always wear ballistics with the strike face facing outwards, i.e. towards the outer shell. If the strike face is marked, this side must face outwards.

If the insert is unmarked, the following applies: Strike face is the side without imprint. The side with technical data is always the reverse side and must be worn facing the body. When fitting, make sure that the insert is fully seated in the insertion compartment and is not twisted.

Care instructions

If dirty, clean with a damp cloth. A welded TPU film prevents UV radiation and moisture from penetrating the aramid package. Please do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as these can attack the TPU film and impair the performance of the aramid.

Compatibility / fit / carrier system

The insert is intended for use in an abdominal protection sleeve, which is used as an extension on plate carriers or protective vests. A suitable insert size and secure fastening are essential to ensure that the insert fits snugly and stays in place.
