Soft ballistic battle belt VPAM 2 - flexible hip protection for the battle belt

The VPAM 2 soft ballistic battle belt is a ballistic insert for the battle belt. It was developed to supplement the hip area and adjacent zones of the lower torso when a combat belt is worn on duty or during training. In line with the system concept, it is recommended for use with the Zentauron Battle Belt, as the insert is designed to fit securely in the slide-in compartments provided for this purpose.

Protection performance and classification

This insert corresponds to protection class VPAM 2 with close-range bullet protection and is bullet-resistant against soft-core bullets from handguns in caliber 9 x 19 mm FMJ. An attached shot is taken into account: Yes. The material used is Twaron, a para-aramid fiber that is processed in a multi-layered, flexible package. Para-aramid is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and is therefore suitable for body-hugging soft protection that moves with you.

The insert is 6 millimetres thin and has a basis weight of 3.6 kilograms per square meter. It is made in Germany and comes with a 10-year warranty.

Important: Ballistic protection reduces the risk, but cannot completely prevent injuries. Even without bullet penetration, residual energy can lead to trauma and injuries.

Protected areas of the body

When worn in a combat belt, soft ballistic protection supplements protection in the hip area and adjacent areas of the lower torso. This is particularly relevant because these areas can be laterally exposed during dynamic movements, for example when kneeling, working in confined spaces or quickly changing cover. Soft ballistics are a practical solution when additional coverage is required without having to rely on rigid panels in the belt area.

Correct use / fitting instructions

Always wear ballistic inserts correctly aligned: The hit side ("strike face") must face outwards, i.e. towards the outer shell. The strike face is either marked as "Strike Face" or, if unmarked, the strike face is the side without technical data or manufacturer information printed on it.

The side with technical data is always the reverse side and must be worn facing the body. Only insert the insert into a slot provided for this purpose so that it lies flat and cannot slip. It must not be worn properly without a suitable vest cover or carrying cover.

Note on covers from other manufacturers: Sleeves or belt systems from other manufacturers can affect the fit and secure fit. Check the dimensions, insertion direction and fastening before using the insert on duty.

Care instructions

Clean with a damp cloth if soiled. The welded TPU film prevents UV radiation and moisture from penetrating the aramid package. Please do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as these can attack the TPU film and impair the performance of the aramid.

Compatibility / fit / carrier system

The soft ballistics are intended for use in the battle belt and are inserted into the compartments provided so that they fit snugly and remain comfortable to wear. For a reliably secure fit, the carrier system should be prepared for ballistic inserts. Depending on the belt size, the insert is available in suitable size variants so that the coverage along the belt is even.
