Additional upper arm protection for professional use

The VPAM 2 soft ballistic upper arm protector (SET) is designed for users who want to add an additional protective surface to their plate carrier or protective vest on the upper arm. The focus is on the upper and lateral upper arm area, where additional coverage can be useful in dynamic situations. The set is designed as a ballistic insert and is worn in a matching upper arm protection sleeve.

Protective performance and classification

The inserts are designed for protection class VPAM 2 with close-range bullet protection. They are bullet-resistant against soft core bullets from handguns in caliber 9 x 19 mm. An attached shot is provided. Ballistic protection reduces the risk of serious injuries, but cannot completely prevent injuries: Depending on the hit pattern, impact energy and carrying configuration, residual energy (trauma) can lead to blunt injuries.

The material used is Twaron, a para-aramid fiber known for its high tensile strength and low material thickness. In soft ballistics, several layers are processed in order to reduce bullet energy and support bullet resistance. The insert is designed for a thickness of 6 mm and a basis weight of 3.6 kg/m². It is manufactured in Germany and comes with a 10-year guarantee.

Protected body areas

The upper arm protection is designed to additionally cover the upper arm area at the top and sides. This is particularly relevant when lateral threats cannot be ruled out or when protection of the upper arm is required as a supplement to the main vest. The flexible design of the soft ballistics ensures that mobility is maintained during use, provided that the insert fits correctly in the appropriate sleeve and is securely positioned on the upper arm.

Correct use / installation instructions

Always wear ballistic inserts with the strike side ("strike face") facing outwards, i.e. towards the outer shell. The side with technical data is always the reverse side and must be worn facing the body. "Body side here". Make sure that the inlay lies flat, is not twisted and sits completely in the shell.

Care instructions

If soiled, clean the insert with a damp cloth. The welded TPU film prevents UV radiation and moisture from penetrating the aramid package. Do not use chemical cleaning agents, as these can attack the TPU film and impair the performance of the aramid.

Compatibility / fit / carrier system

The insert is intended for use in a suitable upper arm protection sleeve and is inserted into the sleeve. The product cannot be used properly without a suitable vest sleeve or carrier sleeve.
