Soft ballistic plate carrier side VPAM 2 - additional side protection for use

The VPAM 2 soft ballistic plate carrier side is a slim ballistic insert for the side area. It supplements the protective effect of a plate carrier where front and back protection often ends: on the flanks. Protection performance and classification

The insert is designed in accordance with VPAM 2 with close-range bullet protection and is bullet-resistant against soft-core bullets from handguns in caliber 9 x 19 mm FMJ. The protective performance reduces the risk of serious injuries, but cannot completely prevent injuries. Residual energy and blunt impacts in particular can lead to injuries despite the bullet being intercepted.

Mounted shot: Yes. The ballistics are designed for professional use and also support demanding threat situations at close range. The insert is made of Twaron, an aramid that is used in multi-layered packages to bind and distribute projectile energy due to its high tensile strength and energy absorption. The construction is designed for a thickness of 6 mm and a basis weight of 3.6 kg/m². It is made in Germany and comes with a 10-year warranty.

Important: The ballistic insert is only intended for use in a suitable vest cover or carrying cover. The product cannot be used properly without a suitable cover. When used in sleeves from other manufacturers, the secure fit may be affected, for example due to different insertion dimensions or an unsuitable contour. Protected body areas

The side ballistics are intended for the lateral torso. It supports the protection of the flanks, i.e. the transition between the front and rear areas, and can therefore improve coverage in the lateral gap. Lateral hit angles can occur especially when moving, changing positions or working in cover. A suitable side insert can be an important addition to the plate set here.

Correct use / installation instructions ("Strike Face")

Always carry ballistics with the strike face facing outwards, i.e. towards the outer shell. If the strike face is marked, this side must face outwards.

If the insert is unmarked, the following applies: Strike face is the side without imprints with technical data or manufacturer information. The side with technical data is always the reverse side and must be worn facing the body. When fitting, make sure that the insert is fully seated in the insertion compartment and is not twisted.

Care instructions

If dirty, clean with a damp cloth. The welded TPU film prevents UV radiation and moisture from penetrating the aramid package. Please do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as these can attack the TPU film and impair the performance of the aramid.

Compatibility / fit / carrier system

The insert is intended for use in a suitable plate carrier or vest cover with a side pocket, for example in the cummerbund area. The internal dimensions and secure fastening in the compartment are decisive. The fit may differ with third-party sleeves; therefore check the fit and position before use.
