Modular Split Front Chest Rig – Customizable MOLLE Carrying System

The Zentauron Modular Split Front Chest Rig is a modular MOLLE carrying system designed for users who want to arrange magazines, radios, medical supplies, and other gear themselves to suit their specific mission. The two halves of the rig are connected at the front via a central zipper, forming a freely configurable platform for MOLLE/PALS-compatible pouches and gear.

Unlike pre-configured chest rigs, you can customize the setup of the Modular Split Front Chest Rig yourself. Magazine pouches, multi-purpose pouches, and other modules can be arranged according to your personal loadout and specific mission profile.

Large MOLLE panels for a customizable loadout

There are three rows with seven MOLLE channels on each side of the chest rig. This allows magazine pouches, multi-purpose pouches, radio pouches, IFAKs, or other MOLLE-compatible pouches to be positioned as needed.

Below the main panels, there is an additional horizontal row of MOLLE on each side. This expands attachment options for items such as multitools, additional tourniquets, or other compact gear.

The freely configurable MOLLE panels allow the chest rig to be adapted to different tasks and gear setups without being limited to a fixed pocket arrangement.

Velcro panels on the inner sides

The inner sides of both rig panels are equipped with loop Velcro. Compatible Velcro modules, clear modules, or other equipment designed for this purpose can be attached there.

The hook-and-loop surfaces are located exclusively on the inner sides of the chest rig. On the outside, the MOLLE panels are available for the modular attachment of pouches and other gear.

Split-front construction with front zipper

The two-piece split-front design connects both rig sections via a central zipper. This allows the chest rig to be opened directly from the front. In addition to quick donning and doffing, this design offers advantages in situations where a closed front panel might be a hindrance.

The combination of the split-front design and freely configurable MOLLE panels is particularly well-suited for users who need to adapt their carrying gear to different tasks, equipment, or work positions.

Benefits for Vehicle Crews

The split-front design offers particular advantages for vehicle crews. The chest rig can be opened from the front, allowing it to be quickly put on or taken off. This facilitates the transition between vehicle operations and foot patrols and can be especially beneficial during frequent entry and exit from the vehicle, as well as in cramped seating positions.

The separate MOLLE panels on both halves of the rig allow the carried equipment to be distributed strategically and tailored to the vehicle crew’s specific needs.

For Snipers and Precision Shooters

The split-front design also offers practical advantages for snipers and marksmen. When lying prone or in other low-profile firing and observation positions, the front panel can be opened. This reduces pressure from equipment on the midsection.

The equipment remains accessible on both halves of the rig. The modular MOLLE system allows magazines, radios, medical equipment, observation devices, and multipurpose pouches to be arranged according to the specific mission.

Anatomically Shaped Shoulder Harness

The Modular Split Front Chest Rig includes an anatomically shaped shoulder harness. The carrying system was developed for the Zentauron Split Front Chest Rigs as well as for combat and duty belts.

The harness features a total of five flat, three-rib steel webbing panels. Various straps can be threaded through these panels. The flat design minimizes bulky material thickness, especially when wearing a protective vest, plate carrier, or backpack.

The inside of the harness is lined with 3D mesh, which enhances comfort.

Additional MOLLE panel on the back

There are also MOLLE loops on the back of the shoulder harness. Suitable additional components can be attached there, such as a compatible water bladder carrier.

This means the modular configuration is not limited to the two front panels but can also be expanded on the back, depending on the equipment setup.

Configurable for different mission profiles

The Modular Split Front Chest Rig is designed specifically for military and law enforcement personnel, vehicle crews, snipers, and marksmen, as well as for users in training, competitive shooting, airsoft, and milsim who require a freely configurable carrying system.

Which pouches and modules are used can be determined based on the mission and the equipment being carried. This allows, for example, for a magazine-oriented setup as well as a configuration with radio, medic, observation, and multipurpose pouches.

IRR/NIR Equipment for Tactical Operational Profiles

The Cordura® fabric used is IRR/NIR-treated. This reduces the material’s visibility in the near-infrared spectrum and adapts the chest rig to tactical operational conditions.

IRR/NIR treatment is particularly relevant for military and law enforcement operational profiles, where the material’s signature plays a role alongside function and ergonomics.

Modular or preconfigured?

The Modular Split Front Chest Rig is designed for users who want to arrange their pouches and gear themselves on the MOLLE panels. The Non-Modular Split Front Chest Rig, on the other hand, comes with permanently integrated magazine and multipurpose pouches.

Material and Construction

The Modular Split Front Chest Rig is made from durable Cordura® polyamide 6.6. The webbing used is also made of polyamide 6.6. Development and manufacturing take place at Zentauron in Germany.
